There is a frustrating misconception that all topics in philosophy have already been discussed, and that there are no new ideas. But this is simply not true. I believe this misconception comes from the fact that many newcomers to philosophy are often introduced to it through studying the bigger questions in the field, and the bigger questions are certainly quite old (on account of their sheer size).
