This is Kendrick’s most lyrically rich project
Kendrick just recently released his new album Mr. Morale and the Big Steppers, and with it he has discussed a myriad of personal, racial, and gendered themes, oftentimes exploring the intersections between such notions.
After listening to this album over and over again for the past few weeks, I can say with confidence that this is the most emotionally connected I’ve ever felt to a piece of music. This album is raw in its content, yet highly polished in its presentation. The ideas explored touched me, and the lyrics moved me in a way music rarely does for me.
As I was analysing this album, I decided to pick out a few of my favourite lyrics and delve into what I love about them.
