Some substances leave a lasting impression on you. Not necessarily because they are tied to good or bad moments, but more so because they provide you with an experience so strange that you can never forget them.

This is a story about the second time I took a dissociative substance named 3-MeO-PCE. Unlike other, well-known dissociatives, such as ketamine and nitrous oxide, 3-MeO-PCE also doubles as a stimulant. While it doesn’t give energy in the same way as, say, cocaine, modafinil, or coffee, it is far from a sedating chemical. 3-MeO-PCE is not the sort of substance that you simply lay in bed and relax on. It provides you with a chaotic sort of motivation, the likes of which can quite honestly be self-destructive if not kept in check.

So what exactly is 3-MeO-PCE?

3-MeO-PCE is a stimulating dissociative. Think of it like ketamine but with energy. It shares a close relationship with the infamous PCP, one of the original stimulating dissociatives ever synthesized; 3-MeO-PCE is actually a PCP analogue, meaning that it shares some structural and chemical similarities. However, make no mistake, this does not make them identical. There are many PCP analogues in existence (3-MeO-PCE, 3-MeO-PCP, 3-HO-PCP, MXE, O-PCE) and they all have their own unique…
